Canoe ride through Inle Lake's canals

This woman looks totally bad ass with her home made cigar. lol. She has one- only one tooth left. Our guide took us around the canals of Nyaungshwe. It was pretty cool to see all the communities & how they live. We started out early around 9am & finished around sunset.
Highlights: The canal ride is nice. I was pretty much templed-out at this point of my trip. We still went to see some temples. Its nice to just float quietly by & watch the villagers go about their routines.
Cast of Characters:  myself, Anneka & our guide.
Logistics/ Links: We booked our trip through the hotel we were staying at- Teakwood guesthouse. We were ripped off big time.
When: I went around mid-Feb, 2012. It gets cold in the mornings but during the day its beautiful weather.
Location: Nyaungshwe, Inle lake, Myanmar
Cost: We paid 7,000 kyat per person. I would not be surprised if it was actually 7K per boat. Teakwood is a rip-off.
Trip Report: I really enjoyed the canal tour. We went to see temples, monasteries, villages, floated past canal towns. Our guide does not speak any English. As I see more & more places, I often find myself traveling with non-English speaking guides. Its ok. You get by. Anneka is a really nice person & I enjoyed doing the canal tour with her. This is highly recommended if you´re ever in Inle.

Leg- rowers of Inle. I encountered some leg-rowers in Vietnam also. Good thinking for them.

Some folks doing laundry along the river side

More temples. I literally saw thousands & thousands of temples. I am templed out.
